Cooking Tibetan for Literacy

Yak-meat dumplings, Tibetan cooks, Tibetan food

To those of you who are in the Madison area, I’m cooking Tibetan food at the Willy Street Co-op, benefiting Literacy Network of Dane County.

This non-profit organization teaches English skills to adults and families so they can achieve financial independence and good health. This group also provides direction for literacy agencies in other states.

I will be making juicy Tibetan meat dumplings (aka Momos) seasoned with “Yerma” (གཡེར་མ), and served with Amdo milk tea. You will travel to a mystical land with my food flavors and learn the cultural significance of our dumplings and tea. So come and join me. The meal is free with a suggested $10 donation to the Literacy Network. Call (608) 251-6776 to make a reservation.

When:
Thursday, August 27 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Where:
Willy Street Co-op East
1221 Williamson Street
Madison, WI 53703

Wish we could have enjoyed your dumplings, but have been out of town. Hope you do it again! Good cause too!
